Catch-up Post: Cheryl & Eric Visit!

I'm still working on catching up on some of the posts I missed during my non-blogging days!

Cheryl and Eric came to visit us in January.  They arrived the day Jeremy finished his Tough Mudder challenge, so unfortunately, they did not arrive to the most energetic house!

It was great having them visit; here are a few pictures:

Kingston napping with Grandpa

The guys doing manly things - chopping down our dead tree!  Kingston was very helpful with this...can you tell?!?!

Dancing in the kitchen.  This is one of Kingston's favorite things!  We have a TON of pictures from this night, but this was one of my favorites.  Cheryl and I tried to get a video to send to The Ellen Show, but Kingston was not cooperating.

Pooped after all the dancing

Holding on to his paci for dear life!

We made a late-night trip to House of Pies with Cheryl and Eric...this is our HORRIBLE family picture that Cheryl captured, but we all seemed to find it really funny.

The best part about this night was the walk home  House of Pies is literally around the corner.  You maybe burn 25-50 calories walking there.  But, we all justified the pie because we "walked it off".  On the way home, we even added an extra block or two to our walk to really burn some calories.  The best part was Cheryl showing us how to skip...she was the over-achiever who burned way more calories than the rest of the group.

We ran into an unwelcome little friend, Mr. Possum, on our walk as well which resulted in my asking 1000 questions about possums.  They are by far the most disgusting creatures I have ever seen, and I simply needed Eric to tell me everything he knew about them in order for me to feel 100% certain that one would not get my little Kingston!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Sissy!!!

Kingston was sad he couldn't be with his Aunt Sissy on her birthday this week, but he sent his love from afar!  He loves his Aunt Sissy and cannot wait to see her next week!!!

Kingston's Baptism - Part II

We had a reception at the house following Kingston's baptism.  We had such a great time with everyone.  Jeremy, Kingston and I are so blessed to have such a loving family.  We are also especially grateful for our friends here in Houston that have become our adopted "Houston family" over the years.

Thank you all for being part of such a special day for us!

Family picture after the baptism

Kingston was baptized in the same outfit Jeremy was baptized in!  Thanks Cheryl for this - it was so special, and I love the little outfit!

LOVE this face!

Another family picture...Kingston is clearly excited!

Everyone!

How Kingston ended the day...I'm telling you, he loves that swing!

Kingston's Baptism - Part I

Kingston was baptized on March 18 at Chapelwood United Methodist Church.  It was such a great day for us with our family and friends.

Mom spent the week with us in Houston to help me get things together...including much yard work which I hate!  She did it all, and my front and back look awesome now!!!

Since Russ was on Spring Break, he joined us, too!

Kingston loves being outside, but he's currently too small for his swing.  No worries...Russ and I found a way to make it work!

Russ and Kingston trying it out...Kingston LOVES it!

All the family came in on Friday afternoon, so Jeremy and I had everyone over for margaritas and fajitas.  I don't have too many pictures from that night, but here are a few:

Kingston and Mimi hanging out

Sophia loving on Kingston...such a sweet girl!

Me and Kingston dancing in the kitchen

More dance party...could Sophia be any cuter!?!?!

The next day, all the guys went golfing after a family breakfast at EVERY ONES favorite - Buffalo Grille!

Kingston was ready to golf with the guys, but got stuck with the girls instead!
(Please disregard the quality of this photo and focus on how adorable he is in his golf gear)

Abby, Sophia, Mimi, Mom, Kingston and I headed to the Children's Museum after breakfast.  Sophia is at such a fun age, so it was a blast watching her takeover the museum.

Sophia shopping at the market

Busy checking-out

Serving me and Kingston some lunch

She cooks, too!

So excited!!!

Sophia and Abby figuring out the waterworks!

Mimi, Mom, Kingston and me relaxing

Kingston was clearly very interested in everything

When he finally woke up, he had a blast with Aunt Sissy.  He loved this machine that played music while putting him on the screen!

And the bubble machine...

Me and Abby with the kiddos!

Clearly it was a good time...Sophia on the way home.  Look closely through those balloons - she fell asleep this way!

Kingston's Cutest Day (to-date)

So, this post is kind of random, but I had to share!  I was getting Kingston ready for lunch last week and decided to put him in a new outfit.  Jeremy was still at the house before work, and I could not get over how cute little Kingston looked!  Jeremy officially thinks I'm crazy as I am now referencing this as "Kingston's cutest day on Earth to-date"!

Seriously...that face, the rolled up sleeves, his boat shoes!!!  Can you tell I'm completely taken with this little guy!?!?!?

Easter 2012

On Good Friday, Kingston and I met some friends (Alisa, Annie, Katherine & Mary, and Katie & Sophie) at Saks for lunch.  After lunch, Katherine, Katie and I took the babies to have their first pictures taken with the Easter Bunny!

They were all so adorable!  It was so much fun and made me even more excited for Easters to come!

Kingston with the ladies and the Easter Bunny!

Kingston with the Easter Bunny...he clearly does not look too impressed!  :)

On Easter Sunday, we went to the 10:00 am church service, then headed over to the Millers' house for Easter lunch with friends!

Kingston hanging out with Aunt Jess!

Family pic

Sweet Max and Charlie...so cute!

Kingston hanging out with Dad and "his peeps" after a much needed wardrobe change!  Thanks Aunt Sissy for the outfit!  And yes, this is a look I get from both of them frequently!  :)

We had a great first Easter with our sweet boy.  We cannot wait to celebrate many more Easters with Kingston as he learns and understands the true meaning behind the holiday and becomes an active participant in the fun festivities!  We are so blessed!!!

Valentine's Day

Such a cute little Valentine!

Tough Mudder

On January 28, Jeremy participated in the Tough Mudder "event" in Edna, Texas.  Tough Mudder is (copied from their website so I don't have to explain myself):

Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. As the leading company in the booming obstacle course industry, Tough Mudder has already challenged half a million inspiring participants worldwide and raised more than $2 million dollars for the Wounded Warrior Project. But Tough Mudder is more than an event, it’s a way of thinking. By running a Tough Mudder challenge, you’ll unlock a true sense of accomplishment, have a great time, and discover a camaraderie with your fellow participants that’s experienced all too rarely these days.

I call this an "event" because it's not a competition.  Nope - it's just for fun (say what???)!  Basically, they set up a ridiculously difficult obstacle course, give people various start times and tell you to go...all for the fun of it!

Jeremy found out about this event and decided it was a must-do.  He and Jay, a friend from work, signed-up and completed the obstacle course.  Kingston and I went to observe and cheer them on.  Jeremy was exhausted after completing the course, but was thrilled to have done it.  It was a great accomplishment with the extra bonus of supporting a great cause.

One of the obstacles...see Jeremy in the red shorts?
(I really need to work on my photography skills)

Nearing the end...and not really looking thrilled about my photo-op!

Jeremy and Jay headed towards the last few obstacles

Yes, that is Jeremy crawling through ice & mud while being shocked by electrical wires...who voluntarily does this stuff???  :)

Finished!

A family pic after he finished...Kingston was thrilled, can you tell?
